Notes to the concept of plant trace fossils related to plant-generated sedimentary structures

Biological activity of plants usually comprises a mixture of physical and chemical processes, often in a direct contact with a plant body. This is different from usual forms of animal activity, and most of plant ichnofossils have no clear equivalents among animal trace fossils. For this reason, I suggest to divide strictly the two groups in the ichnological classification.
