A new species of the actinopterygian fish (Osteichthyes, Actinopterygii) from the Eifelian deposits of the Vileyka buried ridge (Belarus)

A new species of the ray-finned fish of Cheirolepis aleshkai sp. nov. is described in the paper on the basis of some isolated scales found in the deposits of the Osveya Regional Stage of the Eifelian of the Middle Devonian from the Vileyka Buried Ridge of the Belarusian Anteclise. Besides a descriptive palaeontological part the paper presents some data on the concomitant organic remains found together with the scales of this new actinopterygian fish representative, as well as the lithological description of the enclosing rocks, where the scales of this new species were found. The new data presented supplement the information on the taxonomic composition of the Early Eifelian ichthyofauna found within the country. The Stratigraphic Chart of the Devonian deposits of Belarus (2010) was used as a stratigraphic basis.
