Abstrakt
A specimen of Volborthella tenuis Schmidt found in a glacial erratic on öland is the best preserved example of the species ever illustrated. Except for the lack of an outer calcareous shell, it is strikingly similar to specimens of Salterella; absence of the shell may be a result of diagenesis. Salterella occurs in the upper part of the upper Lower Cambrian of North America, Greenland, Scotland, and Spitsbergen; the presence of Volborthella (= Salterella) on Oland supports the correlations of Bergström & Ahlberg in 1981 (Uppermost Lower Cambrian biostratigraphy in Scania, Sweden.
