Abstrakt
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the dependence of calorific value on peat genesis and technical parameters. This thesis is based on previously made geological surveys on the Möllatsi, Elbu V and Keressaare peat deposits.
Möllatsi and Keressaare peat deposits are situated in Tartumaa and Elbu V is in Pärnumaa. Peat mined from those deposits is used in local power plants.
The calorific value of peat greatly depends on its composition. The purpose of this thesis is to find out if one or more of the components stand out during the statistical analysis as a noticeable factor that affects the peat’s calorific value.
The results of this thesis can be used to simplify future geological surveys when exploring peat for energy purposes. In addition, the thesis is connected with
