The bryozoan fauna from the Bjärsjölagård Limestone in the type area is investigated. Ten species of Bryozoa are identified from samples collected at the now abandoned quarry at Bjärsjölagård, Skåne and in investigated museum material from the same locality. One of these species, Batostoma scanicum, is new to science. The bryozoan fauna is naturally divided into two groups, one dominated by Batostoma scanicum and Pseudoleptotrypa podolica Astrova, and another by Saffordotaxis ludlovensis Brood and Asperopora ludlovensis Owen. These two groups appear to be typical of a marly environment where reefs are absent, since none of these communities are found on Gotland, although the species occur there.
