The Hardeberga Sandstone of Simrishamn contains ice-push lineations and structures implying frozen sediment. Large wave ripples, parting lineations, zircon concentrates, etc., indicate environment from outer nearshore, intertidal and swash zone. Open sea was to the S. Lower Cambrian carbonates of central to SW Europe could not be coeval with this, uniess widely separated in pre-Caledonian geography. The findings seem to fit with a paleomagnetic South Pole in South or East Europe.
