Abstrakt
A rich assemblage of chitinozoans, hystrichosphaerids, and scolecodonts occurs in the Sylvan Shale outcrop, on U.S. Highway 77, 4.5 miles south of Davis, Murray County, Oklahoma, in NE¼ NW¼ sec. 30, T. 2 S., R. 2 E. Most of the Chitinozoa specimens illustrated in this paper are from approximately 50 feet above the top of the underlying Viola Limestone. A preliminary report on the chitinozoan assemblage was published in 1958 by Wilson, and it included an illustration of the new genus and species here described. In 1960, Hedlund completed a Master of Science thesis in which the microfossil fauna was described in greater detail.
