Abstrakt
An invertebrate ichnoassemblage from the Moenkopi Group (Spathian Ankareh Formation) at Dia-mond Creek in north-central Utah consists of Gordia marina Emmons, Helminthopsis hieroglyphica Wetzel and Bromley and irregular networks similar to Unisulcus. This is the first record of Gordia and Helminthopsis from the Moenkopi Group. This low diversity ichnoassemblage, consisting of simple grazing traces in association with tetrapod tracks, comes from supratidal, tidal flat deposits and represents the Scoyenia ichnofacies. A review of the Moenkopi invertebrate trace-fossil record reveals a handful of reports of dwelling burrows such as Palaeophycus, grazing traces such as Helminthoidichnites and locomotion traces such as Diplichnites and Kouphichnium. Previous identification of the Glossifungites ichnofacies in the Moenkopi Group is not supported.
