Chitinozoans from the Sheinwoodian/Homerian boundary beds (Wenlock) in the Prague Basin (Barrandian, Bohemia)

Sixteen chitinozoan taxa are identified in samples from the Sheinwoodian/Homerian boundary beds (Wenlock, Silurian) of the Kosov quarry (section 767) in the Prague Basin, Bohemia. Their stratigraphical range is correlated with graptolite data in the studied section. The distribution of some Wenlock index chitinozoan species (e.g. Cingulochitina cingulata, Gotlandochitina martinsoni, Conochitina gracilis) in section 767 is compared with their distribution in other regions around the world. The paleogeographic affinities of the Wenlock chitinozoans from the Prague Basin and the Baltica paleocontinent are stressed.
