Acritarchs Villosacapsula? ceratioides (STOCKMANS, F. et WILLIERE, Y., 1962) LOEBLICH, A. R., Jr. and TAPPAN, H., 1976, emend. and Visbysphaera n. sp. A characterise the lower part of the Frasnian shales cropping out along the main road from Couvin to Philippeville, immediately north of Frasnes; chitinozoans Angochitina devonica EISENACK, A., 1955, Hoegisphaera glabra STAPLIN, F. L., 1961 and Sphaerochitina cf. S. sphaerocephala (EISENACK, A., 1932) EISENACK, A., 1965 occur in the upper part which corresponds to the shales of « Matagne » aspect.
