Abstrakt
Southeastern France is known to fossil hunters for, among other things, the beautiful, often unusually shaped ammonites found there (see Klein, 1988). Much less well-known are the equally beautiful and unusually shaped belemnites from the region, such as some 'leaf-shaped' species from the Duvalia family, for example, Duvalia emericii (Raspail). These belemnites occurred in the Valanginian (from 136.5 to 132 million years ago)..
