Prey selection by naticid gastropods in the Pliocene of Emporda (Northeast Spain)

Data from a rich and diverse mollusk assemblage indicate that naticids select their prey species. They are selective also with respect to prey size and borehole site. These findings corroborate the assumptions of the energy gain optimization model for naticid predation.
