This paper is part of a series dealing with Oolithes and oncoids among geschiebes {glacial erratic boulders) of Northern Germany. Firstly, geschiebes of the so-called Linsenschicht ("Lens Beds"; Middle Ordovician) are described which contain lens-like iron ooids. Silificates among the so-called „Lavendelblauen Hornsteine" of the Kaolinsand (Plio-/Pleistozän) of the lsle of Sylt with densely packed lens-like hollows are considered as remains of the Linsenschicht.
