Abstrakt
The Palaeozoic sequence of the Algerian Sahara is well characterized bytypical acritarch assemblages. Twenty-three palynological zones have been defined between the Lower Tremadocian and the Strunian with Hymenozonotriletes lepidophytus. They were based upon ranges of acritarchs, chitinozoans and spores. A range chart is presented, showing the distribution of 160 typical acritarch species alongside a composite litho-stratigraphical section. The data used originate from three main areas: Illizi—Tinrhert basin, Grand Erg Oriental and Grand Erg Occidental.
