Abstrakt
Excellently preserved specimens of the trace fossil Haentzschelinia onoi (Geinitz) allow its three‐dimensional reconstruction and interpretation of the behaviour underlying the morphological pattern. H. onoi is a rosette‐shaped endogenic trace fossil comprising central tube and branching incomplete radial protrusive spreiten. The basic behaviour pattern (rosetted vertical spreiten with central shaft) is the same as that of Brooksella Walcott 1896 and Dactyloidites Hall 1886. Haentzschelinia is therefore placed in synonymy with Dactyloidites, which has priority.
