Upper Vendian and Lower Cambrian ichnocoenoses of Lublin region

Rich and diversified ichnofauna has been found in the Upper Vendian and Lower Cambrian strata of southeastern Poland (Lublin region). Thirteen ichnogenera and one new ichnospecies have been described. Their taxonomical, morphological and ethological diversity permits to distinguish among them two ichnocoenoses of different age. The existence of differentiated assemblages of trace fossils makes them applicable to the identification of the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary in southeastern Poland.
