Abstrakt
During the fossitization process bacteria consume proteins and carbohydrates, and synthesize lipids that have different composition from that of the primary biological matter. Comparison of Estonian kukersite and dictyonema oil shales is presented, strong effect of bacterial activity having been stated in the latter.
