Abstract
Hemsiella andincola n. sp., a beyrichiacean ostracode (family Craspedobolbinidae, subfamily Amphitoxotidinae), is described from the Silurian part of the Caparo Formation in the Cordillera de Mérida, Venezuela. It is preserved as moulds in a mudstone, and for the description of such material a simple photographical casting method has been developed.
