Abstract
The new lithistid sponge species Calycocoelia annulata is described from the Middle Silurian Thornloe Formation on Lake Timiskaming, Quebec. This, the first species of the genus described from Silurian rocks, is an annulate goblet-shaped form. It has the characteristic ladder-like skeletal structure of the Anthaspidellidae.
