Abstract
Tremadocian to basal Llanvirnian carbonate mudstones of southern Sweden contain hollow, orthogonal pentact or hexact calcareous spicules filled with calcite cement. Available data do not permit distinction from Calcihexactina franconica Sdzuy, 1969, from the Middle Cambrian of Germany.
