Abstract

This paper reports about microfossils from the Wenlock stage of Dudley, England. Scales of an Eurypterid, remains of annelids and Hydrozoans, chitinous walled Foraminifera and agglutinated ones with organic cement, Chitinozoans, Acritarchs, remains of plants and some problematics. — Among the Foraminifera a new species is established: Archaeochitina tabifera.

Mostly the species agree with those of the isle of Gotland, but some are met with in boulders of "Beyrichia limestone" (~ Downton). The remains of plants reconfirm the occurrence of higher plants in the Silurian.
