Exceptionally well preserved Precambrian ignimbrites and basic lavas in N. Sweden

The volcanic rocks around Lake Rakkur are divided into basic lavas and ignimbrites surrounding a nucleus of granite and quartz-syenite. The rocks are relatively well exposed and exhibit very well preserved primary structures and textures, which should merit further attention. The area would be a most suitable excursion object.
