On the crossoptrygian genus Porolepis from the Devonian of the USSR

The history of the Lower and Middle Devonian crossopterygian fish Porolepis and the taxonomic criteria by which all referred species are recognized are briefly reviewed. The identity of two new Lower Devonian species, Porolepis kureikensis from the Kureyka formation of the northwestern part of the Siberian platform, and P. taimyrica from the Kureyka and Razvedochnaya formations of the Central Taymyr region, is established.
