Abstract

Silurian and Devonian cores samples from well TRN, of the Illizi Basin (S.E. of the Algerian Sahara) yield abundant and well-preserved chitinozoan assemblages. These microfossils provide a fairly good age assignment for the investigated succession. Among the recorded Chitinozoa, 5 taxa are new (Ancyrochitina taugourdeauiensis sp. n., Bulbochitina? atranensis sp. n., Gotlandochitina illiziensis sp. n., Linochitina jardinei sp. n., and Parisochitina perforata n.g., n. sp.). They are described and illustrated in the present paper.
