Abstract
Five fossil fungal conidia adherent to a specimen of the chitinozoan Spinachitina paucifurcata Laufeld 1974 from upper Wenlock strata in Skåne, southern Sweden, are interpreted to possibly belong to the Deuteromycetes. Morphologic comparison to a Recent representative of the Deuteromycetes is the basis for this suggested affinity. These fossil conidia were probably arranged in a linear configuration. Reduviasporonites chitinophilus sp. nov. is described.
