Abstract
The Ordovician slates (scisti argillosi) at Portixeddu, southwestern Sardinia, Italy, contain one taxon of chitinozoans, Conochitina elegans Eisenack 1931, which is described and illustrated. It suggests a Caradocian age for the upper part of the slate sequence.
