Abstract

Fossil microorganisms, preserved as organic matter, are often flattened by the fossilisation. Measurements are therefore doubtful and forms are difficult to interpretate. Amyl acetate, in warm conditions, reinflate scleroproteins and restore their original form and volume. Applications has been done to Chitinomycetes–Chitinozoa, to Hystrichosphæria and to several Incertae sedis of the Paleozoic.
