Abstract

Stratigraphic status of Yong Limestone has been formally instituted following the Code of Stratigraphic Nomenclature of India. A reasonably rich palynological assem· bIage, consisting of Il Chitinozoan and 9 scolecodont forms, have been recorded from this stratal sequence. Chitinozoan evidence indicates that Yong Limestone may be a time transgressive unit. The Ordovician·Silurian boundary perhaps lies within the lower part of this Formation.
