Abstract

Fossil footprints of terrestrial tetrapods (dinosaurs, specifically bipedal ornithopods) discovered in Lower Cretaceous (Valanginian) deposits of the Northern Caucasus, near the city of Kislovodsk (Caucasian
Mineral Waters region, Stavropol Krai, Russia), are described. This paper presents data on the geology and stratigraphy of the area studied. A new ornithopod ichnospecies, Iguanodontipus lermontovi ichnosp. nov., is described. Ornithopod locomotion modes are discussed.
