Abstract
The localities to be demonstrated during the field trip are situated at the Lemovzha, Saba and Oredezh rivers (Fig. 2). The studied sections comprise the Middle Devonian Narova Regional Stage (Eifelian), Aruküla and Gauja Regional Stages (Givetian), and possibly the Upper Devonian, Frasnian Amata Regional Stage. The agnathan and fish remains occur within the whole stratigraphical interval. Most outcrops are composed of unusually loose siliciclastic deposits of the Old Red Sandstone facies, such as sands, sandstones with clay, mudstones and interbedding siltstones. These deposits yielded diverse remains of psammosteid agnathans, placoderms, chondrichthyans, acanthodians, sarcopterygians and actinopterygians. The threedimensional preservation of vertebrate remains in such facies is unique for the Devonian localities of the world
