Abstract
Ultrastructural observations of the conchocelis phase of Porphyra perforata J. Ag. (Bangiophycidae) confirm the presence of pit connections in the transverse walls of the cells of the filaments. These are similar to the pit connections already reported in the Florideophycidae.
