Abstract

A ten meter thick sequence within the Lower Cambrian succession from Snogebæk Harbour to Broens Odde, Bornholm contains abundant trace fossils throughout. The systematics of some of the ichnogenera are briefly discussed, in particular Buthotrephis and a new form of Diplocraterion. The trace fossils can be subdivided into four associations, the Skolithos, Diplocraterion, Rhizocorallium and Teichichnus/Buthotrephis associations. The recurrence of these associations can be correlated with changes in substrate; in particular, the Diplocraterion association in the middle and upper part of the Broens Odde Member exposed here occurs only in storm deposits.
