Abstract

This research investigates the topographical features and formation mechanisms of home depressions created by limpets, focusing on the role of chemical secretions from their mantle and foot in the excavation process. Through a review of relevant literature and experimental adaptations from related studies, insights are provided into the similarities between limpet home depressions and structures created by predatory gastropods. The paper concludes with acknowledgments of contributions from various researchers, emphasizing the complexity of home depression formation and potential directions for future research.
